Stephen & Penelope was one of the first places I visited here in Amsterdam. It was my birthday so I went to buy myself some skeins. I had settled down a couple of weeks before and I was sad because I had to leave my own shop there in Spain, but somehow, there in Penelope, I felt like home. Two years and a half later and 2 weeks before leaving Amsterdam I’m feeling sad again but I know that in my new location I’ll find a new shop that makes me feel that way again.
Stephen & Penelope fue uno de los primeros sitios que visité en Amsterdam. Era el día de mi cumpleaños por lo que aproveché para autoregalarme unos cuantos ovillos. Yo estaba recién llegada y con mucha pena por haber tenido que dejar mi propia tienda en España, pero al entrar en Penelope… en cierto modo me sentí como en casa. Dos años y medio después, a un par de semanas de dejar Amsterdam, siento otra vez esa pena, pero se que en mi nuevo destino encontraré otra tienda que me reconforte como en su momento lo hizo ésta.
Not only they have a huge variety of the best yarn brands and qualities but it’s also a place where knitters can gather. Every Thursday, during the Craft Night, knitters from all around the world meet there and spend the evening knitting, eating, drinking, laughing… I’ve had the opportunity to attend some these craft nights and I can tell that it’s an amazing source of inspiration.
Como toda buena tienda de lanas, además de una inmensa gama de las mejores marcas y calidades, Penelope es un lugar de reunión para tejedores empedernidos. Todos los jueves, durante la Craft Night, se juntan aficionados y profesionales de todo el mundo para tejer, comer, beber, reír… He tenido la oportunidad de asistir a unas cuantas y, además de disfrutar del buen ambiente, me ha servido como fuente de inspiración y conocimientos. Los proyectos que ahí se realizan son… wow…!
